Terms of Service
The terms that cover an estimate, a move, and everything in between.
Get my free estimateThese terms govern any moving services quoted or performed by High Tech Movers for a customer in New Orleans or the surrounding region. By booking a move with us, you agree to the terms below.
Estimates vs. final charges
Estimates provided by Adele Broussard or another team member during an in-home or video walkthrough are based on the information available at the time — items to be moved, access conditions, and requested services. Final charges may differ from a non-binding estimate if the scope of the move changes on move day, such as additional items, added stairs, delayed access, or extra packing requested on site. We’ll flag any change in scope before continuing work whenever possible.
Customer responsibilities
Customers are responsible for disclosing hazardous, perishable, or high-value items in advance, ensuring reasonable access to both pickup and delivery locations, and being present (or naming an authorized representative) at both ends of the move. Items not disclosed during the estimate or scan-in process may affect scheduling, pricing, or claims eligibility.
Licensing and insurance
High Tech Movers is a fully licensed and insured Louisiana household-goods carrier, permitted through the Louisiana Public Service Commission. Like most licensed household goods carriers, we maintain cargo liability coverage of at least $1,000,000 as a baseline on every shipment.
Valuation coverage and claims
Every shipment is covered by released-value protection at $0.60 per pound per item at no additional charge, which is the industry-standard baseline. Customers who want fuller protection can purchase full-value protection, typically priced around 1-3% of the shipment’s declared value, which covers repair, replacement, or cash settlement for lost or damaged items at their full value rather than by weight. Our digital condition-photo log, taken at pickup and matched again at delivery, is the primary record used to evaluate any claim. Claims must be filed in writing within nine months of delivery, consistent with federal requirements for household goods claims.
Cancellations and rescheduling
We understand that hurricane season and other events sometimes force a move date to change on short notice. Contact us as early as possible if you need to reschedule; we’ll do our best to accommodate a new date without penalty when notice is reasonable.
