High Tech Movers started in 2017 because Remy Fontenot got tired of watching moving companies run on a clipboard and a Sharpie. Before he ever loaded a truck, Remy spent six years as a logistics coordinator for a regional freight carrier, building the routing software the dispatch team used every single day to know where a shipment was and what was on it. When he started getting quotes for his own move, he couldn’t believe an industry that moves households worth tens of thousands of dollars had less tracking than a freight pallet gets. So he opened his own company and built it around the opposite idea: a customer should be able to see exactly which crew is on their truck, exactly what’s been scanned in, and exactly where that truck is on I-10 — not just a four-hour window and a shrug. Remy still writes some of the internal scheduling tools himself, and he can pull up any move from the last two years by scanning a single barcode.

Nearly a decade of moves, tracked from the first box

Since 2017, High Tech Movers has completed more than 5,200 moves and put over 740,000 miles on our trucks between New Orleans and the rest of the Gulf South. Every one of those jobs ran through the same inventory and tracking system Remy built the company on.

The team

Theo Landry has run dispatch and tech since 2019. He built and still maintains the live GPS-tracking dashboard customers use to watch their truck move, and he routes crews around Causeway and I-10 traffic patterns before anyone leaves the yard — the difference between a truck that shows up on time and one stuck behind a wreck on the high-rise.

Adele Broussard has handled move coordination and estimates since 2020. She walks every household through an in-home or video estimate herself, and by the time a crew shows up on move day, she’s already built the digital inventory scan sheet they’ll be working from — nobody’s improvising a list on the fly.

Desmond Guillory has led the same crew since 2018. He’s the one who personally checks every barcode scan against the inventory sheet before a truck pulls out of a driveway, which is why a discrepancy gets caught in the yard instead of three states away.

Vivian Toussaint joined in 2020 and built the item-condition photo-log system our crews use at pickup and delivery — a picture of the couch before it goes on the truck, and one when it comes off, matched side by side. She also trains every new hire on how to scan and photograph a piece before it goes anywhere.

Corbin Arceneaux has driven our long-distance and Gulf Coast runs since 2021. He handles the Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Gulf Coast trips himself more often than not, with the GPS tracker live on the customer’s phone for the whole drive.

Licensed and insured

High Tech Movers is a fully licensed and insured Louisiana household-goods carrier, permitted through the Louisiana Public Service Commission. We’re based at 5215 Chef Menteur Hwy in New Orleans, and we’ve built the company to run the way Remy always thought a moving company should — like a freight operation that happens to move your living room instead of pallets.

Why Greater New Orleans books this crew

What sets High Tech Movers apart

Every item on the truck is logged before it leaves your driveway, and you can watch the pin move on a map until the last box is carried through your new front door.

Every Item Gets A Barcode

Before the truck backs out of your driveway, Desmond’s crew has scanned every box and piece of furniture into a digital inventory log. The same barcode gets scanned again at delivery, so there’s a timestamped record of what left and what arrived.

Watch The Truck, Not The Clock

You get a live GPS link the morning of your move, the same way freight gets tracked in transit. Instead of a wide arrival window and a guess, you can watch the truck cross the Causeway or come off I-10 and know almost to the minute when the crew pulls up.

Licensed Through The State, Not Just A Sticker On The Truck

We hold an active Louisiana household-goods carrier permit through the Public Service Commission, plus insurance on every load. A property manager in Metairie or an HOA in Mandeville asking for proof gets a certificate the same day.

Theo Routes Around The Traffic Before You See A Truck

Causeway backups, I-10 work near the Industrial Canal, streetcar tracks that pinch a whole block downtown — Theo builds the day’s routing around all of it before a crew ever leaves the yard, so your window holds.

You Get Adele, Not A Script

Call the office and Adele, Remy, or someone off the crew picks up — not a call center reading from a screen somewhere out of state. Whoever answers already has your scan sheet pulled up.

Photographed, scanned, then wrapped

What happens to your things between your old door and your new one

Every Piece Gets Photographed First

Vivian’s team photographs dressers, cushions, and anything with an existing scratch or dent right where it stands in the room, before a single blanket goes on. That photo gets matched against the piece again at delivery.

The House Gets Protected Too

Corner guards and floor runners go down at both ends before the first box moves, so neither your old hallway nor your new one ends up with a scuffed wall or a dented door frame.

Taken Apart, Logged, Put Back Together

Bed frames, dining tables, cribs — whatever needs to come apart for the ride gets disassembled, its hardware bagged and tagged to the same barcode as the piece itself, then reassembled at the new address.

Fragile Items Get Their Own Box, Not A Gap Between Cushions

TVs, mirrors, and artwork get a dedicated carton with real corner padding and a photo taken before it’s sealed, so there’s a record of its condition before it ever leaves the room.

Nothing Gets Muscled Up A Staircase

Anything heavy rides on a dolly with a real tie-down strap, which matters more than usual in a city full of raised camelback homes and narrow, steep staircases.

The Crew That Starts Your Move Finishes It

Desmond runs the same crew from the first box to the last, with no relief shift showing up after lunch to pick up where somebody else left off.

How it works

Three steps. One crew the whole way.

01

Tell Adele The Basics

Two ZIP codes and a rough room count is usually enough for Adele to send back a written estimate the same day — no in-person walkthrough required just to get a number.

02

Your Crew And Scan Sheet Get Booked

Lock in a date and a specific crew goes on the calendar under your name, along with the digital inventory sheet that tracks every barcode on move day. Need a certificate of insurance for your building first? It goes out before move day.

03

Scanned At Pickup, Tracked The Whole Way, Scanned At Delivery

Desmond’s crew loads and scans every item, drives it themselves with your GPS link live the entire time, and scans each piece again as it comes off the truck at the other end.

Ready to put your move on the schedule?

From the first barcode scan at pickup to the GPS ping when the truck turns onto your new street, your move stays logged and trackable the whole way — not tracked on a clipboard that gets left behind in the cab. Send us your details and expect a written number back the same day.
